Position Objective:

The Transportation Procurement Manager is responsible for selecting, contracting, and managing transportation providers and commercial partners. This position ensures that providers meet the quality and performance standards required by the company, conducting audits, initial reviews, and monitoring first trips to guarantee optimal service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provider Selection and Contracting:
    • Identify and evaluate potential transportation providers.
    • Negotiate contracts and service agreements with selected providers.
    • Ensure providers meet the company’s legal and quality requirements.
  • Auditing and Review:
    • Conduct initial and periodic audits of providers to verify compliance with norms and standards.
    • Review and validate carrier documentation and credentials.
    • Onboard providers into the company’s management system.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation:
    • Supervise new providers’ first trips to ensure they meet service expectations.
    • Evaluate provider performance through performance indicators and feedback.
    • Resolve problems and discrepancies with providers in collaboration with the operations team.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify improvement opportunities in provider contracting and management processes.
    • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key providers.
    • Propose initiatives to optimize costs and improve transportation efficiency.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, International Commerce, or related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement and provider management, preferably in the logistics sector.
  • Experience in contract negotiation and service agreements.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and standards.
  • Negotiation and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate performance indicators.
  • Proficiency with vendor management tools and ERP systems.
